Dee Byrne's Outlines
Dee Byrne is a saxophonist, composer and improviser with a keen interest in pushing the boundaries of jazz. She loves exploring the magic that happens in the area between freely improvised music and contemporary jazz, where compositions are given room to breathe and the freedom to go to unexpected places.
Outlines is Dee's new project, playing the original music which evolved out of a creative experiment where she introduced visual art into her compositional practice. The short musical sketches, or outlines, which emerged stand alone as artistic statements and provide a springboard to propel this dynamic ensemble in new, exciting directions! Their debut album will be released on Whirlwind Recordings in June.
