Listen! presents...
Mark Lockheart & John Parricelli
Photo: Brian Homer
This brand new duo features Mark and John in a rare intimate setting exploring evocative soundscapes, worldly grooves and original songs - they might even throw in a well-known jazz standard for good measure!
As well as being close friends, Mark and John have been frequent musical collaborators over the years, starting off in the 1980's with the eclectic big band Loose Tubes. Since the demise of the Tubers they have worked together many times, including John's beautiful album Alba and, more recently, Mark's 2024 album Smiling which features John's multi-faceted guitar playing. In 1993 they joined forces to record an album of their original tunes called Matheran, available as a download from Bandcamp.
Between the two of them they have played with a dizzying array of leading lights of the music scene including: Kenny Wheeler, Dave Holland, Polar Bear, Norma Winstone, Django Bates, Lee Konitz, June Tabor, Andy Sheppard, Lars Danielsson, Mark Anthony Turnage and Radiohead.
